This isn't a role for executing redlines; it's a seat at the table where you own the high-stakes decisions. You'll operate with high autonomy, working directly with founders and pod leads to influence product direction without the friction of a design-ops layer.WHAT YOU'LL DO- Own the full design lifecycle for the Android app,
from initial problem discovery and framing to final high-fidelity shipped UI- Act as the primary design owner, making critical decisions and managing technical trade-offs directly with your product and engineering pods- Scale and tighten Equal's design system in parallel with our rapid product expansion to ensure a cohesive experience at scale- Mentor and manage junior designers, actively helping them level up their visual craft and strategic design thinkingWHAT YOU'LL BRING- 5-7 years of experience in consumer product design, with a portfolio that proves your ability to lead complex features from concept to launch- Advanced Figma craft and a sharp eye for interaction nuances that distinguish good products from great ones- A 'builder's' mindset—you thrive in high-velocity environments where processes are still being defined and require your initiative to take shape- The ability to articulate clear, evidence-based design rationales to stakeholders, moving beyond aesthetics to focus on impact
