Responsibilities:

Job Purpose

Software Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining applications using established processes. With guidance, the role conducts analysis, elicits requirements, writes correct and clean code leveraging best practices, DevOps, testing/debugging, documentation, quality assurance reviews, implementation, and maintenance activities.

Essential Functions Description% of Time Spent
Software Development & Product Support

- Build a robust understanding of customer and business needs, products, and associated features with guidance. Collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders for requirements elicitation.
- Develop high-quality code following established engineering practices and ensure on-time delivery. Participate in pair programming, mob programming, and peer reviews.
- Develop application code while ensuring compliance with established controls, policies, regulations, and other applicable non-functional requirements.
- Build and leverage automation and testing practices to support the complete test pyramid (Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and System/E2E Testing) and resolve defects.
- Proactively monitor, support, and maintain products in accordance with established support agreements. 50%

Technical Expertise & Learning

- Develop an understanding of all layers of software development, including runtime environments, databases, APIs, user interface/user experience, quality assurance/automated testing, and security considerations throughout the software lifecycle.
- Participate in building cloud-native solutions and/or migrating existing applications to cloud infrastructure.
- Actively engage in training, self-development, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Support fellow software engineers by providing guidance, advice, and coaching.
- Stay informed about internal and external technology trends. 20%

- Demonstrate hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools.
- Identify improvement opportunities beyond stated problems and propose solutions through collaboration, data-driven insights, and best practices.
- Demonstrate an agile mindset and actively participate in Scrum or equivalent ceremonies as part of the adopted execution framework. 20%

Organizational Contribution & Compliance

- Build an understanding of the underlying product, architecture, and key design decisions to understand the “why” and contribute to technical solutioning to understand the “how.”
- With guidance from leadership, develop an understanding of the organization’s strategy and key initiatives, and connect daily work to operational plans.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate - Bachelor's degree (any stream)

Key Responsibilities:

- Developer role is responsible for developing, testing and maintaining the application/s with established processes.
- Develop and maintain technical designs based on requirements
- Develop application code for programs while following coding standards
- Develop and execute unit tests
- Complete Analysis & documentation as required by the project

- Implementing cloud applications using AWS services, Typescript and Java.
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Work closely with product manager and engineers in to define and refine requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for code and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our development practices.

Mandatory Skills:

- 2+ years of software development experiences with focus on AWS cloud development and distributed applications development with Java & J2EE.
- Around 2 years experience in AWS development using typescript. If not worked on typescript, willing to learn typescript because as per Principal standards typescript is the preferred language for AWS development. Plus minimum of 6 months experience in snowflake.
- Hands on experience and deploying applications on AWS cloud infrastructure(e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Fargate etc).
- Experience with REST API and Java Shared Libraries.
- Core Java
- Good OOPs concepts & principlesUnderstanding of MVC framework (Spring) Java persistence framework (like iBATIS/Mybatis/Hibernate),
- Developing test cases using JUnit, Application server (Websphere/Apache) - Basic configurationIDE (like RAD/Eclipse/Intellij),
