Job Description – ServiceNow Developer (SPM)

Experience: 5+ Years

Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on ServiceNow Developer (SPM) with strong expertise in implementing and customizing ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience across Demand Management, PPM, Resource Management, Agile Development, Portfolio Planning, integrations, and custom application development on the ServiceNow platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, configure, and implement ServiceNow SPM modules including Demand, PPM, Resource Management, Agile Development, and Portfolio Planning.
- Develop and customize workflows, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, and Flow Designer solutions.
- Build and enhance custom applications using ServiceNow App Engine.
- Design and develop integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server, and third-party systems.
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and deployment activities.
- Develop dashboards, reports, KPIs, and Performance Analytics solutions.
- Troubleshoot platform issues and ensure adherence to ServiceNow development best practices.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
- Strong implementation experience in ServiceNow SPM.
- Expertise in Demand Management, PPM, Resource Management, Agile Development, and Portfolio Planning.
- Solid knowledge of Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub.
- Experience with ServiceNow App Engine and Custom Application Development.
- Strong integration experience using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, MID Server, and enterprise applications.
- Good understanding of ServiceNow architecture, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Certifications

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – SPM (CIS-SPM)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- ITIL Foundation Certification

Nice to Have

- Performance Analytics and Reporting experience.




- Exposure to Agile Development 2.0.
- Experience in enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations.

ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) with Integrations

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, configure, and implement ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) solutions aligned with business and enterprise architecture requirements.

- Design scalable and reusable workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, Flow Designer flows, and automation within the SPM ecosystem.
- Design, develop, and support inbound and outbound integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise applications using:

- REST Application Programming Interfaces (REST APIs)
- SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) Web Services
- IntegrationHub
- MID Server
- Scripted REST APIs
- Import Sets and Transform Maps

- Integrate ServiceNow SPM with enterprise platforms such as:

- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms
- Human Resources (HR) systems
- Azure DevOps
- Jira
- Microsoft Project
- SAP
- Oracle
- Microsoft Power BI
- Other third-party applications

- Develop secure authentication mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, Basic Authentication, Mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS), and API key-based integrations.




- Build and maintain data synchronization processes to ensure consistency across integrated enterprise systems.
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues, API failures, data transformation errors, and performance bottlenecks.
- Optimize integration performance, reliability, monitoring, and error handling using ServiceNow best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors to define integration requirements and solution architecture.
- Perform impact analysis, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support for SPM enhancements and integrations.
- Prepare technical design documents, integration specifications, deployment guides, and operational documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong hands-on experience implementing and supporting ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM).
- Experience developing integrations using IntegrationHub, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, Scripted REST APIs, and MID Server.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub Spokes, Business Rules, Script Includes, and Scheduled Jobs.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with Azure DevOps, Jira, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Power BI, and other enterprise platforms.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow data model, CMDB (Configuration Management Database), security model, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and update sets.
- Experience with API authentication methods including OAuth 2.0, JSON Web Token (JWT), Mutual TLS (mTLS), and certificate-based authentication.
- Experience in troubleshooting API integrations, performance tuning, data mapping, transformation, and error handling.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, and DevOps methodologies.
