Description
WSP is seeking to appoint an Associate - Project Management to support and strengthen our UK-based Project Management teams with UK Local Government team. Responsibilities
• Support WSP in fulfilling its contractual Project Management obligations on small to large scale projects, across the full project lifecycle from inception through completion and occupation.
• Lead or support projects of varying scale, complexity, and sector, across multiple project stages, including bidding, mobilisation, and delivery.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of project management processes and deliverables, with detailed knowledge of RIBA Stages 0–7.
• Assist the Project Director or UK Project Manager in developing, monitoring, and reporting key project performance metrics, applying established tools and procedures to drive successful delivery. Where appropriate, act as Lead Project Manager on major commissions.
• Contribute effectively to Project Management processes regardless of project scale or complexity.
• Manage projects using WSP’s online Project Management and Controls tools, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal requirements.
• Operate independently by planning, prioritising,
and managing personal workloads to ensure that scope of service obligations are met.
• Support and champion health and safety best practices, ensuring safe, sustainable, and efficient outcomes aligned with agreed objectives.
• Proactively identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and threats to programme, cost, or scope.
• Prepare monthly reports, meeting minutes, dashboards, and other project management documentation to support successful delivery.
• Work in alignment with WSP values, ensuring compliance with all corporate, departmental, and legislative procedures, and maintaining consistency and quality in delivery.
• Build, manage, and mentor a team of Project Managers, taking responsibility for their performance, professional development, and training.
Qualifications
Essential
• A minimum 4-year degree from an from a recognised university in a relevant Property, Engineering, Construction, or Project Management discipline.
• Over 15 years of relevant experience in Project Management within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
• Possession of industry-recognised project management certification(s) (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, APM or equivalent).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of proficiency in English.
• Proven people leadership, mentoring, and team management experience.
• Clear understanding of the importance of supporting overseas clients and UK-based project teams in delivering defined contractual obligations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Sound knowledge of industry standards, best practices, tools, and emerging trends in Project and/or Design Management.
• Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines across UK and international projects.
• Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across time zones.
Preferred
• Experience working with international teams (outside India) while based in an Indian delivery location.
• ChPP or similar qualified qualifications are preferred.
