Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Physics Lab In-charge to manage and oversee the operation of our Physics laboratory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up experiments, maintaining scientific apparatus, ensuring laboratory safety protocols, and supporting educators and students during practical sessions within our international curriculum frameworks (IBDP / IGCSE).
1. Key Responsibilities
- Laboratory Management & Operations:
- Prepare equipment, chemicals, apparatus, and specimens required for daily Physics practical classes and examinations.
- Oversee regular maintenance, calibration, and servicing of laboratory instruments and digital equipment (e.g., sensors, oscilloscopes, meters).
- Maintain complete inventory logs of equipment, tools, and consumables; raise purchase requisitions for replacements or additions as required.
- Academic & Practical Support:
- Assist teachers during practical demonstrations and guide students in performing Physics experiments safely and accurately.
- Support IBDP / IGCSE students in setting up experiment setups for Internal Assessments (IAs), Extended Essays (EEs), or project work.
- Organize and store equipment systematically after laboratory sessions.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety procedures,
emergency protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the lab.
- Ensure proper disposal of materials and clear labeling of all hazardous or fragile equipment.
- Keep emergency safety gear (first aid kits, fire extinguishers) accessible and up to standard.
2. Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Physics (M.Sc Physics) from a recognized university.
- Experience:
- Prior experience managing Physics laboratories in IBDP / IGCSE schools or Engineering Colleges.
- Hands-on experience operating advanced Physics laboratory instruments and experimental setups.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong subject-matter understanding of Physics fundamentals and practical applications.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and inventory management abilities.
- Good communication skills in English to interact effectively with faculty and students.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, Excel for stock keeping).
3. Salary & Benefits
