As a key member of the global Cost Accounting team at Varex Imaging, the Senior Cost Accountant will specialize in product cost accounting, focusing on cost of sales and inventory valuation

Varex Imaging operates manufacturing plants and service depots in the US, Central America, Europe, and Asia. Reporting to the Cost Accounting Manager at the US based Corporate Office, the Sr. Cost Accountant will contribute from the Pune, India office working directly with two young manufacturing plants and collaborate with a team of Cost Accountants to support global business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyzes the cost of materials, labor, overheads, and other direct or indirect costs associated with products or services.
- Coordinates maintenance of standard cost data, and accounts for manufacturing variances, scrap, rework cost, excess & obsolescence,



and product returns through direct engagement of our production teams and produces internal metrics to enhance understanding and establish action items to aid in the control of these costs.
- Interacts with departments and procedures within the cost accounting function to study and assist in recommending and implementing process improvements.
- Provides cost accounting support to global subsidiaries.
- May work with warranty, capitalized variances, material recovery, non-conformance, intercompany, wall to wall physical, and other related inventory matters.
- Assists with resolution of Intercompany and 3rd party (GRIR/RNV).
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, company policies, and industry regulations. Assist in internal and external audits related to cost accounting.
- Prepares month end and year end closing entries and reconciliations.
- Contributes to Internal Reporting through the creation and distribution of monthly reports.
- Performs special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
