The ideal candidate should in fabrication, welding, production planning, and project execution within heavy engineering industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end fabrication shop operations from raw material receipt to final dispatch.
- Heavy fabrication, alloy steel equipment manufacturing, piping and pressure parts, furnace and reformer assemblies, radiant tube systems, industrial rollers.
- Plan, monitor, and control production schedules to ensure timely project completion.
- Lead fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and inspection activities.
- Supervise and optimize manpower, including welders, fitters, supervisors, and operators.
- Review fabrication drawings, BOMs, GA drawings, and engineering documents.
- Ensure welding activities comply with approved WPS, PQR, and WPQ standards.
- Monitor welding quality for Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel, and High-Alloy materials using SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes.
- Coordinate NDT activities (RT, UT, MPT, LPT, DPT, Eddy Current Testing) and pressure testing.
- Liaise with customers, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
- Drive quality assurance, cost optimization, productivity improvement, and implementation of 5S and Kaizen initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, statutory requirements, and quality management systems.
- Develop, review, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) in accordance with industry codes like ASME Section IX, ASME B31.1/B31.3, AWS D1.1, etc..

Performance
- In-depth knowledge of Codes & Standards, Naval and Classification Society Rules.
- Preparation of Raw material Summery for procurement of various Mfg. components (Fabricated components).
- Time estimation for fabrication activities.
- Monitoring & Tracking of different manufacturing activities like Fabrication, Blasting Painting, Procurement, Assembly and Dispatch on a periodic basis.
- Coordination with various functions or departments like Purchase/Projects/Design/Production etc.
- Enforce quality control procedures and rigorous workplace safety regulations (e.G., OSHA, local HSE).
Qualification
- Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
- ASNT Level II Certification (Preferred).
