About Controvia AI

Controvia AI is an early-stage enterprise AI startup helping large organisations automatically audit employee expense claims.

We have successfully deployed with our first enterprise customer, have additional large organisations evaluating the platform and are now entering the next phase of building the company.

That creates a wide range of problems that don't fit neatly into a single function.

The Role

We're looking for an exceptional generalist to join the Founder’s Office and work directly with the founder across strategy, operations, growth and special projects.

Your work could vary significantly from week to week.

One week you might analyse a new market or prepare material for an investor conversation. The next you might help structure a customer proposal, investigate a strategic partnership or solve an internal operational problem.

This is not an executive-assistant role.

It is a high-ownership role for someone who wants exposure to how an early-stage company is actually built.

Responsibilities

Strategy

- Research markets, competitors and strategic opportunities.
- Analyse potential new industries, customer segments and geographies.
- Build business cases and financial analyses.
- Support strategic decision making with structured research.

Founder Support & Special Projects

- Work directly with the founder on high-priority initiatives.
- Take ambiguous problems and turn them into structured workstreams.
- Prepare presentations, proposals and decision material.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects.

Fundraising & Corporate Development

- Support investor research and fundraising preparation.




- Help maintain investor materials and company information.
- Research potential strategic partners.
- Support due diligence and analysis when required.

Operations

- Identify gaps in internal processes.
- Build lightweight systems and processes as the team grows.
- Track significant company-level initiatives.
- Step into problems that don't yet have a natural owner.

What We're Looking For

Essential

- 2–5 years of high-quality professional experience.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to independently structure ambiguous problems.
- High ownership and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders.

Highly Desirable

Background in one or more of:

- Management consulting.
- Investment banking or venture capital.
- Strategy or corporate development.
- Founder’s Office at a startup.
- B2B SaaS or technology.
- Entrepreneurship.

An MBA is useful but not required.
