Role & responsibilities

- Key responsibilities include Supplier Relationship & Performance Mgmt., Cost Mgmt., Risk/Compliance Mgmt.
- Price negotiation, execute long-term pricing contracts, year-on-year material cost reduction, Challenge LPP to improve the product profitability, localization, contracts/agreements coverage, on-time delivery.
- Possess solid abilities in Supplier Development for desired quality levels and in-process feasibility study to direct supplier in right direction.
- Tracking of Raw Materials Price variation and reporting the impact of it on components and Products level.
- Scouting for new technologies and suppliers for continuous. improvements and cost optimization.
- MIS

Education Requirement

- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
- Professional & Fluent English is mandatory.

Experience Requirements

- Experience in identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers for machining, casting, forging parts (in Aluminium , Stainless Steel , Titanium, Brass, Copper etc.), Composites, heat treatments, Surface Treatments.
- Experience in sourcing Fasteners and Catalogue products.
- Experience in sourcing Raw Materials like special grade Aluminium (Aerospace Grade), Stainless Steel,



Titanium etc. from Indian and International suppliers / manufactures.
- Experience in sourcing medium to large welded structures (Jigs, assembly Fixtures etc.) and Sheet metal parts in Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel etc.
- Good Knowledge in surface treatments used in Defence and Aerospace, Supplier selection Criteria, Certification requirements, Supplier bases etc.
- Finding out potential suppliers for new projects, Evaluate the suppliers for the suitability, locating best cost supplier, negotiation for the price and terms.
- Cost estimation of new parts for benchmarking and Identifying cost saving opportunities with suppliers.
- 10 to 12 years of Industrial Experience. Defence and Aerospace industry experience is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4-6 years as Senior Buyer or Commodity in-charge for mechanical components in a large manufacturing company.
- Good Knowledge on Global supplier bases (China, Europe etc.)
- Excellent negotiation & communication skills.
- Passionate, proactive and problem solving.
- Experience in using ERP systems (SAP, Ariba)
