Job Description – Cost Optimization Consultant

Location: Pune

About the Role

We are supporting a leading consulting firm in hiring for a Cost Optimization Consultant for an ongoing transformation engagement with a leading automotive client . The consultant will work closely with consulting teams and client stakeholders to drive cost reduction, operational efficiency, and savings realization initiatives across manufacturing and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and spend assessments
- Identify cost-saving and productivity improvement opportunities
- Support zero-based cost reduction and operational efficiency initiatives
- Track cost-saving projects, savings realization, and implementation progress
- Prepare dashboards, governance reports, and stakeholder updates
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, plant operations, procurement, finance, and transformation workstreams
- Monitor risks, dependencies, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution

Required Experience





- 5–10 years of experience in cost optimization, cost reduction, operational excellence, manufacturing consulting, or transformation projects
- Experience in automotive, auto components, manufacturing, industrial engineering, operations, procurement, or plant cost management is preferred
- Solid understanding of cost drivers, productivity metrics, efficiency improvement frameworks, and savings tracking
- Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting and transformation workplace with multiple stakeholders
