Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Performance

Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.

Monitor daily sales, footfall, conversion rate, average bill value and sales per employee.

Analyse department-wise and category-wise sales performance.

Drive upselling, cross-selling and add-on sales.

Identify slow-moving products and implement corrective sales strategies.

Ensure effective execution of all promotions, offers and campaigns.

Prepare daily and monthly sales performance reports for management.

2. Store Operations

Ensure smooth opening and closing of the store.

Maintain discipline and operational efficiency across all departments.

Ensure proper product replenishment and availability on the sales floor.

Monitor stock movement, stockroom operations and inventory accuracy.

Coordinate with purchase, warehouse, accounts, HR and other departments.

Ensure adherence to company SOPs and operational policies.

Minimise stock loss, damage, pilferage and operational wastage.

3. Customer Experience

Ensure a high standard of customer service at all times.

Handle customer complaints and escalated issues professionally.

Monitor customer feedback and identify areas for improvement.

Ensure staff follow proper greeting, assistance, product presentation and billing practices.

Drive customer retention and repeat visits.

4. Team Management

Lead, motivate and supervise the store team.

Allocate staff according to business requirements and customer footfall.

Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming and discipline.





Conduct daily briefings and communicate sales targets.

Set individual and departmental performance expectations.

Identify training requirements and coordinate with HR for training programs.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback.

Build a positive, accountable and customer-focused work culture.

5. Visual Merchandising & Store Presentation

Ensure products are displayed according to VM guidelines.

Maintain attractive, clean and organised departments.

Ensure proper size, colour and category-wise arrangement.

Coordinate with the Visual Merchandising team for campaigns and seasonal displays.

Ensure promotional signage and branding are correctly displayed.

6. Inventory & Stock Control

Monitor stock availability and replenishment.

Conduct regular stock checks and support physical inventory audits.

Investigate stock discrepancies and report irregularities.

Ensure proper handling, tagging, folding/hanging and storage of merchandise.

Monitor ageing and slow-moving inventory.

Coordinate with the warehouse for timely stock transfers and replenishment.

7. Cash & Billing Control





Ensure accurate billing and adherence to cash-handling procedures.

Monitor cashier operations and daily cash reconciliation.

Ensure proper handling of returns, exchanges, discounts and cancellations.

Report billing discrepancies or suspicious transactions immediately.

Coordinate with Accounts for reconciliation and settlement.

8. Compliance, Safety & Security

Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Coordinate with security personnel to prevent theft and pilferage.

Ensure CCTV, fire safety and emergency procedures are followed.

Maintain workplace safety and cleanliness standards.

Report accidents, incidents or security issues immediately to management.

9. Reporting & MIS

Prepare and submit regular reports covering:

Daily sales and target achievement

Department-wise sales

Footfall and conversion

Average transaction value

Sales per employee

Stock availability

Stock loss/shrinkage

Returns and exchanges

Customer complaints

Staff attendance and productivity

Promotional campaign performance
