Job Description - Senior Accountant (Manufacturing Industry)

Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Finance Manager / CFO / Director - Finance
Location: As per company requirement

Job Summary

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting
Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with accounting standards.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
Monitor general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.

Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
Monitor production costing and inventory valuation.
Analyze material consumption, production costs, and manufacturing variances.
Coordinate with production, stores, and procurement departments for cost control.
Prepare cost reports and MIS for management review.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance
Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns.
Reconcile GST, TDS, and tax ledgers.
Coordinate with auditors,



tax consultants, and government authorities.
Ensure compliance with applicable financial and statutory regulations.

Accounts Payable & Receivable
Oversee vendor payments and customer receivables.
Monitor outstanding balances and improve cash flow.
Verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment approvals.

Budgeting & MIS
Assist in annual budgeting and financial forecasting.
Prepare monthly MIS reports, profitability analysis, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial performance and recommend improvements.

Audit & Internal Controls
Coordinate internal, statutory, cost, and tax audits.
Strengthen internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
Ensure proper documentation and record management.

ERP & Process Improvement
Work on ERP systems for finance and inventory modules.
Recommend automation and process improvements for finance operations.
