About the Role n Tivor Tech is looking for an experienced Medical Coder – ER & Pain Management with strong knowledge of U.S. healthcare coding, particularly Emergency Room, Interventional Pain Management, and Personal Injury (PI/LOP) cases.
n The ideal candidate should be able to accurately review medical documentation, assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers , and ensure coding compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.
n
Key Responsibilities n n Review ER, pain management, and procedure documentation for coding accuracy.
n Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, E/M, and applicable modifiers .
n Code ER services including imaging, laboratory, injections, IV services, and other documented procedures.
n Code pain-management procedures such as ESI, TPI, facet injections, MBB, RFA, nerve blocks, and joint injections .
n Review documentation for medical necessity, laterality, anatomical levels, imaging guidance, and procedure details.
n Identify undercoding, overcoding, unbundling, duplicate coding, and documentation deficiencies.
n Follow CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, NCCI, CMS, and payer-specific guidelines .




n Support coding-related denials, appeals, and claim corrections.
n Coordinate with providers and RCM teams regarding documentation and coding issues.
n Maintain coding accuracy, compliance, and required productivity/quality standards.

Qualifications n n 2+ years of U.S. medical coding experience preferred.
n Strong experience in ER and/or Pain Management coding .
n Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, E/M coding, and modifiers .
n Knowledge of NCCI edits, medical necessity, and payer requirements .
n Experience reviewing physician and procedure documentation.
n Understanding of U.S. healthcare billing and Revenue Cycle Management.
n Solid attention to detail and ability to work independently.
n CPC/CCS/COC/CIC certification preferred.

Preferred Experience n Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
n n Emergency Department / Freestanding ER coding
n Interventional Pain Management
n Personal Injury (PI) / Letter of Protection (LOP)
n Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) cases
n Texas healthcare providers
n Coding audits and denial management
n U.S. healthcare EMR/EHR systems
