Role Summary:

The Safety Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs within the R&D; Center (around 250 employees) to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. The role involves conducting risk assessments, supporting laboratory and testing safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, investigating incidents, delivering safety training, and promoting a solid safety culture. This individual will ensure safe setting and work conditions for employees including company assets. The safety officer must stay updated with all safety regulations and consistently implement these practices in the workplace. The Safety Officer works closely with relevant teams to identify hazards, implement preventive measures, and support secure execution of research, development, and prototype testing activities.

Main Responsibilities:
Safety Management
Implement and maintain safety policies, procedures and standards.
Ensure compliance with company HSE requirements and applicable local regulations.



Conduct periodic trainings for safety committee and employees, safety inspections and audits.
Maintain safety records, Maintain permits, licenses, statutory records, inspection reports, and audit findings.
Monitor compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other applicable standards.
Support audits from regulatory agencies and customers
Laboratory Safety
Review laboratory safety procedures before introduction of new experiments or processes. Ensure availability and proper use of PPE.
Monitor and ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols.
Verify availability & maintenance of safety equipment, Deploy as needed.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Management
Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and risk mitigation planning.
Incident Investigation
Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions and perform root-cause analysis.
