About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Database Engineer role
In this role, you will:
Lead or participate in database management activities including designing highly complex logical and physical databases
Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:




Expert-level experience with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery, including:
Always On Availability Groups
Distributed Availability Group (DAG)
Transactional Replication
Robust expertise in SQL Server infrastructure, tools, methodologies, and processes
Hands-on experience with backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning.
Proven experience in planning and executing successful database migrations, including pre‑migration assessment, data validation, controlled production cutover, and post‑migration verification, ensuring minimal downtime and zero data loss.
Robust experience with SQL Server performance tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
Robust experience in SQL Server security and compliance, including managing logins, roles, permissions, encryption (TDE), auditing, vulnerability assessments, and ensuring adherence to organizational and regulatory compl
