Accountants in the automobile industry manage complex financial operations across multiple revenue streams (vehicle sales, parts, service, and warranties).
Key Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
Certifications: CA (Chartered Accountant), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or CMA.
Experience: 3–5 years of corporate or retail accounting, preferably in automotive dealerships or parts inventory management.
Responsibility:
Inventory Accounting: Valuing current and used vehicle inventory, parts, and accessories. This includes applying methods like FIFO/LIFO and conducting physical stock reconciliations to avoid shrinkage.
Floor Plan Financing Tracking: Calculating and tracking high interest costs associated with wholesale vehicle financing (floor planning) until units are sold.
Departmental P&L; Reporting:
Generating financial statements divided into distinct cost and revenue centers: current cars, used cars, parts, and service.
Manufacturer Incentive Management: Reconciling fluctuating manufacturer rebates, warranty claims, and dealer holdbacks.
Commission and Payroll Processing: Calculating intricate commission structures for sales teams based on volume, gross profit, and manufacturer bonuses.
Taxation and Compliance: Filing GST/sales tax, ensuring strict adherence to industry regulations, and handling audits.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
