Job Responsibilities:
Set and operate VMC (Vertical Machining Centre) machines for production.
Perform complete job setting based on engineering drawings.
Set tools, tool offsets, work offsets, and cutting parameters.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
Perform first-piece inspection and ensure components meet specifications.
Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters.
Make necessary offset corrections during production.
Check components using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.
Monitor tool wear and replace tools when required.
Handle different machining operations such as milling, drilling, tapping, boring, and reaming.
Identify and troubleshoot basic machining and setting problems.
Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
Coordinate with the Quality and Production teams.
Maintain production and quality records.
Follow safety procedures and maintain proper housekeeping.
Required Skills:
Strong experience in VMC machine setting.
Valuable knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controls is preferred.
Excellent knowledge of tool selection, offsets, and cutting parameters.
Ability to read and understand 2D engineering drawings.
Valuable knowledge of tolerance and dimensional inspection.
Knowledge of GD&T; is an added advantage.
Ability to independently handle job setting and troubleshooting.
Valuable problem-solving and team-working skills.
Experience: 7–15 years of relevant VMC Setter experience.
