Position Overview:

A Solar Designer is responsible for designing and planning solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, or industrial projects. The role involves conducting site assessments, creating layout drawings, system sizing, preparing electrical schematics, and ensuring designs meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct site surveys and evaluate roof or ground conditions for solar installation.

· Design efficient and cost-effective solar PV systems using design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, etc.).

· Calculate system sizes, energy yield, shading analysis, and string configuration.

· Prepare detailed electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs) and layout drawings.





· Coordinate with project managers, electrical engineers, and field teams to ensure design feasibility.

· Stay updated on solar technologies, products, and relevant codes (MNRE, IEC, IS standards).

· Prepare technical documentation for permits, approvals, and installation guidelines.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

· Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.

· Experience with solar design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, PVsyst, Helioscope, etc.).

· Knowledge of solar PV components, grid-tied and off-grid systems.

· Understanding of applicable safety and electrical codes.

· Good analytical skills and attention to detail.

· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
