Key Responsibilities:
Policy & Compliance: Support the development, review, and implementation of OHS policies. Ensure full statutory compliance with the Factories Act, 1948, Maharashtra Factories Rules, DISH guidelines, MPCB, MIDC/Fire Dept. etc and ISO standards.
Inspections & Risk Mitigation: Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to ensure a hazard-free workplace. Monitor workplace activities to detect unsafe acts or non-conformity (e.g., lack of PPE).
Authority to Stop Unsafe Acts: Exercise the authority to immediately stop any unsafe acts, processes, or machinery operations deemed dangerous or unhealthy.
Incident Investigation: Record, investigate, and determine the root causes of all workplace accidents, near-misses, and incidents. Assist in handling employees compensation claims.
Equipment Verification: Audit and verify that all plant tools, machinery, and equipment are adequate, well-maintained, and protected for operational use.
Training & Drills: Initiate, organize, and conduct regular safety training sessions, emergency drills, first aid exercises,



and hazard awareness programs for both employees and executives.
Planning & Collaboration: Participate in daily operational planning meetings to identify and mitigate inherent health and safety concerns in the work plan. Coordinate with external safety consultants and regulatory agencies when required.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive safety reports, maintain logs of safety-related activities, and provide performance statistics to upper management.
Environmental Sustainability: Promote resource efficiency and waste reduction initiatives to improve environmental performance and support sustainable development.

Technical Knowledge: Robust understanding of industrial safety management systems, hazard identification, and local statutory labor/factory regulations.
Soft Skills: Excellent observational skills, strong communication abilities to lead training, and a proven track record of problem-solving. Software: Proficiency in basic computer applications.
