Roles and Responsibilities:

The MS Purview IRM SME/Architect will play a key role in the implementation of Microsoft Purview Information Rights Management capabilities The role will support the design, configuration, rollout and adoption of Purview-based data protection controls, helping strengthen information governance, regulatory compliance and sensitive data protection across the organisation. The candidate will work closely with security, compliance, architecture, infrastructure and business stakeholders to ensure the solution is scalable, secure and aligned to banking-grade risk and control requirements.

Your responsibilities:
Lead the architecture, design and implementation of Microsoft Purview IRM capabilities
Define and configure sensitivity labels, encryption policies, data classification rules and access control models.
Assess current information protection controls and recommend target-state architecture, implementation roadmap and migration approach.
Provide SME guidance on IRM policy design, label taxonomy, auto-labelling, DLP integration and data lifecycle governance.
Support testing, pilot deployment, user adoption, troubleshooting and operational handover activities.




Produce architecture documents, configuration guides, implementation runbooks and control evidence for audit and governance reviews.
Ensure solution alignment with banking security standards, data privacy expectations and enterprise control frameworks.
Mentor implementation teams and provide technical assurance across design, build and deployment phases
Previous experience delivering Microsoft Purview, information protection or data governance programmes within banking, financial services or other highly regulated industries.
Working knowledge of European regulatory and privacy expectations such as GDPR, data residency, data retention, auditability and information handling requirements.
Experience integrating Microsoft Purview with broader security operations, SIEM/SOAR platforms, eDiscovery, insider risk, records management or third-party data protection tools.
Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure security services and Zero Trust architecture principles.
Exposure to enterprise change management, communications, training and adoption activities for large-scale Microsoft 365 security rollouts.
