Position: Section Head - Current Product Development & Manufacturing Engineering
Job Summary
The Section Head - Recent Product Development (NPD) & Manufacturing Engineering Process is responsible for ensuring quality excellence throughout the product development lifecycle and manufacturing process development. The role leads APQP activities, process quality planning, manufacturing process validation, and current product industrialization while ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards and customer-specific requirements.
The incumbent will work closely with Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Supplier Quality, and Customer Quality teams to achieve flawless product launches, process capability targets, and continuous improvement objectives.
Candidates from casting background are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Development (NPD)
Lead quality planning activities for new product development projects.
Drive APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) implementation from concept to SOP (Start of Production).
Coordinate cross-functional teams for successful product launches.
Review product drawings, specifications, GD&T; requirements, and customer standards.
Ensure preparation and approval of:
DFMEA
PFMEA
Control Plans
Process Flow Diagrams
Inspection Standards
Work Instructions
Lead production trial runs and pilot builds.
Support design verification and validation activities.
Facilitate Customer PPAP submissions and approvals.
Monitor launch readiness and quality gates throughout development stages.

Customer & Supplier Interface
Act as a key quality representative during customer project reviews.
Handle customer quality concerns related to new product launches.
Collaborate with Supplier Quality teams to ensure supplier readiness.
Participate in customer audits, technical reviews, and launch meetings.

Educational Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
Master's Degree / MBA (Preferred).
