Gravton Motors is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Management (SCM) Manager to lead and optimize the end-to-end supply chain function. This role is responsible for overseeing Procurement, Production Planning & Control (PPC), Material Planning, Warehouse & Stores, Inventory Management, Vendor Development, and Logistics to ensure uninterrupted production, optimal inventory levels, and efficient material flow across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, hands-on experience in manufacturing supply chains, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence through effective planning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Operations:
- Lead and manage end-to-end supply chain operations, including Procurement, Production Planning & Control (PPC), Material Planning, Warehouse & Stores, Inventory Management, and Logistics.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials, components, and consumables to support production schedules.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, responsiveness, and cost effectiveness.
Production Planning & Material Planning:
- Develop and execute production plans based on demand forecasts, manufacturing capacity, and material availability.
- Coordinate with Production, Sales, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure timely execution of manufacturing schedules.
- Lead Material Requirement Planning (MRP) activities to ensure optimal inventory levels while minimizing shortages and excess stock.
- Monitor procurement and replenishment plans to support uninterrupted production.
Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Manage strategic sourcing, procurement planning, and supplier development initiatives.
- Evaluate supplier performance through defined KPIs and implement continuous improvement programs.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers.
- Develop alternate sourcing strategies to mitigate supply risks and strengthen supply continuity.
Warehouse, Stores & Inventory Management:
- Oversee warehouse and stores operations, including receiving, storage, preservation, issuance, and dispatch of materials.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting, stock audits, reconciliation, and inventory control practices.
- Implement and monitor FIFO/FEFO methodologies, material traceability, and warehouse optimization initiatives.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance working capital requirements with production needs.
Logistics & Distribution:
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely movement of raw materials and finished goods.
- Coordinate with logistics partners to improve transportation efficiency and delivery performance.
- Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless material flow and production continuity.
- Identify potential supply chain risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies to prevent production disruptions.
Performance Management & Reporting:
- Track and analyze key supply chain KPIs, including inventory performance, supplier performance, procurement metrics, logistics efficiency, and production planning effectiveness.
- Prepare and present MIS reports, inventory analyses, supplier scorecards, and operational dashboards to management.
- Drive data-based decision-making through ERP and supply chain analytics.
Team Leadership:
- Lead,
mentor, and develop teams across Procurement, PPC, Warehouse, Stores, and Logistics.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Production Planning & Control (PPC), Material Planning, Warehouse & Stores Management, Inventory Control, and Logistics.
- Hands-on experience with Material Requirement Planning (MRP), ERP systems, and production scheduling.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and demand forecasting.
- Expertise in warehouse operations, inventory optimization, stock audits, and material traceability.
- Robust vendor development, supplier management, and commercial negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related discipline.
- MBA in Operations or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.

Experience:
