WordPress Developer — Candidate Requirements

1.WordPress Development: Should be able to build a complete website from a design — pages, menus, forms, everything working.

2.Page Builders: Should be fluent in Elementor or similar builders, and fast with them.

Custom Work: Should know enough HTML, CSS, JS and PHP to go beyond the builder when the design demands it.

3.Mobile-First: Should build sites that look and work perfectly on phones — that's where most customers are.

4.Speed: Should be able to make a site load quick, and find and fix whatever is slowing it down.

5.Design Accuracy: Should be able to match the approved design exactly — not "close enough."

6.SEO-Friendly Building: Should build with speed, clean structure, proper headings and schema in mind, and work well with an SEO specialist's instructions.

7.Launch: Should be able to take a site live cleanly — domain, hosting, DNS, SSL, redirects.

Maintenance: Should handle updates, backups,



security and fixes without being chased.

8.Troubleshooting: Should be able to debug plugin conflicts, errors and breakages independently.

9.Shopify (bonus): Knows their way around building and customising Shopify stores.

10.AI Tools (bonus): Already builds with tools like Claude Code, Codex or Cursor — this is how we work.

What we're really looking for

We don't want someone who just knows a page builder. We want someone who can take a design and turn it into a fast, exact, working website — without hand-holding, without excuses, without "the plugin doesn't support it."

If you are genuinely good at WordPress, you should be able to take a project from design → build → speed → launch → a live site that ranks and converts.
