Warehouse Inventory & Barcode ImplementationAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Warehouse Inventory & Barcode Implementation Executive to take responsibility for improving inventory control and implementing a barcode-based warehouse management system across our manufacturing facility in Sankrail, Kolkata.

This is a hands-on implementation role for someone who understands both physical warehouse operations and inventory systems. The successful candidate will work directly with management to assess the current warehouse processes, design a structured inventory and location system, implement barcode-based tracking, integrate it with the existing ERP/system, and ensure that the system is properly implemented and followed by the warehouse team.

The objective is to move towards accurate, traceable and system-driven inventory management, where every material, component, finished product and warehouse location can be identified and tracked digitally.

Key Responsibilities

- Take responsibility for warehouse inventory accuracy and control.
- Design and implement a barcode-based inventory management system.
- Develop a logical SKU/item coding and barcode structure for materials and finished goods.
- Create barcode identification for racks, bins, shelves and warehouse locations.
- Map the physical warehouse and establish a systematic bin/location management system.
- Implement barcode scanning for receiving, put-away, material movement, production issues, returns and dispatches.
- Coordinate barcode integration with the company's ERP / inventory / warehouse management software.
- Establish proper processes for GRN, material receipt, stock transfer, material issue and finished-goods receipt.
- Introduce and conduct cycle counting and periodic physical stock verification.




- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system inventory.
- Establish controls to minimize inventory errors, stockouts, excess inventory and incorrect entries.
- Work closely with production, procurement, stores, quality and dispatch teams to improve material flow.
- Develop explicit SOPs and warehouse processes for inventory handling and barcode scanning.
- Assist in selecting and implementing required barcode scanners, label printers, software and related hardware.
- Train warehouse personnel and ensure that barcode processes are followed correctly.
- Prepare inventory reports and management dashboards covering stock accuracy, discrepancies, material movement and inventory ageing.
- Identify bottlenecks in the existing warehouse and continuously improve layout, processes and inventory flow.
- Ensure that the warehouse becomes increasingly system-driven rather than dependent on manual records or Excel.
- Work directly with management and provide regular updates on implementation progress, inventory accuracy and system improvements.

What We Are Looking For
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in warehouse inventory, inventory control, WMS/ERP implementation or a similar role.
- Proven, hands-on experience in implementing barcode-based inventory systems.
- Experience with SKU coding, barcode generation, scanners, label printers and warehouse location coding.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, stock reconciliation, cycle counting and warehouse processes.




- Hands-on experience with Tally is required.
- Experience integrating or implementing inventory systems with an ERP or WMS will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and inventory reporting.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Ability to understand the physical movement of raw materials, components, work-in-progress and finished goods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop and implement SOPs and process discipline.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to work hands-on on the warehouse floor, rather than functioning purely in an administrative capacity.
- The candidate should be comfortable working directly with management and taking ownership of implementation tasks.

Preferred ExperienceCandidates who have previously helped transform a warehouse from a manual / Excel-based system to a barcode-driven inventory system will be strongly preferred. Experience with Tally, manufacturing ERP systems, WMS, handheld RF/barcode scanners, bin-location systems and real-time inventory tracking will be an advantage.

Key Objective of the RoleThe person joining this position will be expected to build and implement the system, not simply maintain the existing warehouse.
