ABOUT EIGENDYNE
EigenDyne is a Tamil Nadu-based deep-tech robotics startup building adaptive, vision-driven robotic scanning systems for manufacturing and automotive OEM customers. Our platform combines classical computer vision, precision motion, and fleet-level software to automate inspection and quality workflows on the factory floor. We are recognized under the Startup India (Deep Tech) initiative.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Robotics Engineer to design, develop, and deploy robotic arm-based automation solutions. You will own the ROS2 software stack for our robotic arm platforms, from simulation in Gazebo through to real-world deployment on the shop floor with industrial customers. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role suited to an engineer who enjoys working across the full stack — motion planning, integration, and field deployment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain ROS2-based software for robotic arm (cobot) platforms used in variousapplications
- Build and validate simulation environments in Gazebo for motion planning, path validation, and workcell layout before physical deployment
- Integrate robotic arms with vision sensors, end-effectors, and scanning payloads
- Develop and tune motion planning (e.g., MoveIt2)
- Work closely with the computer vision and controls teams to integrate scanning algorithms with arm motion
- Debug and optimize system performance across simulation and real hardware,
closing the sim-to-real gap
- Support in office commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of deployed robotic systems at customer/OEM facilities
- Contribute to system architecture decisions, code reviews, and documentation for the robotics software stack
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-6 years of hands-on experience in robotics software development
- Strong working experience with ROS2 (nodes, topics, services, actions, launch/parameter systems)
- Practical experience with Gazebo (or equivalent) for robot simulation and testing
- Experience programming, integrating, or deploying robotic arms/cobots (e.g., Doosan, UR, ABB, Fanuc, or similar)
- Proficiency in C++ and Python for robotics application development
- Understanding of robot kinematics, motion planning, and control (MoveIt2 or equivalent frameworks)
- Experience integrating sensors (cameras, depth/LiDAR sensors) with robotic systems
- Comfortable working in Linux/Ubuntu development environments and using Git for version control
- Willingness to travel for on-site deployment and support at customer/OEM facilities as needed
PREFERRED / GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience with industrial cobots specifically in manufacturing/automotive inspection use cases
- Familiarity with point cloud processing and classical computer vision techniques
- Exposure to fleet management or multi-robot orchestration systems
- Experience with CI/CD or automated testing for robotics software
- Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced product development environment
EDUCATION B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
