Snowflake Architect

Responsibilities

- Define and own the enterprise Snowflake architecture strategy and roadmap.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing Data Lakehouse and Data Warehouse platforms.
- Lead architecture decisions for data modernization, migration, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives.
- Establish enterprise-wide architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
- Design secure data-sharing models, access controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Provide architectural leadership for Snowflake implementations across business units.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, platform teams, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
- Lead architecture reviews, solution assessments, and technical design workshops.
- Drive performance optimization, workload management, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Guide engineering teams on Snowflake best practices, design patterns, and implementation strategies.
- Define DevOps/DataOps frameworks and deployment standards for Snowflake platforms.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to drive innovation.
- Ensure adherence to security, governance, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Mentor architects, technical leads, and engineering teams.
- Create architecture documentation, reference patterns, standards, and reusable assets for enterprise adoption.

- Cost Optimization and Workload Management
- Data Sharing and Marketplace capabilities
- Enterprise Data Architecture
- Strong experience creating enterprise data architecture blueprints and reference architectures.
- Expertise in:
- Data Modeling (Dimensional, Data Vault, Hybrid Models)
- Data Governance Frameworks
- Metadata Management and Data Lineage
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Data Quality and Data Stewardship
- Ability to align technical architecture with business objectives and enterprise strategy.
- Data Engineering & Modern Data Stack
- Solid knowledge of ETL/ELT frameworks and enterprise integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience with:
- DBT
- Snowpipe
- Streams & Tasks
- Snowpark
- Airflow or equivalent orchestration platforms




- Proficiency in SQL and Python for solution design, automation, and architectural validation.
- Experience supporting AI/ML and advanced analytics workloads on Snowflake.
- Cloud & DevOps
- Strong expertise across AWS, Azure, and GCP services relevant to Snowflake solutions.
- Experience defining and implementing:
- DevOps and DataOps operating models
- CI/CD frameworks
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Automated deployment strategies
- Monitoring and observability frameworks
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
- Leadership & Consulting
- Proven experience driving architecture governance and design reviews.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide architectural recommendations.
- Experience leading architecture workshops, solution assessments, and technology roadmaps.
- Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik.
- Exposure to Databricks and modern analytics ecosystems.
- Knowledge of AI/ML platform architecture and MLOps frameworks.
- Experience with data catalog and governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or Purview.
- Understanding of Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing, or Telecom data domains.
- Certifications in Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, or Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
