Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible OT Technician / Operation Theatre Technician to support surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and the clinical team during surgical procedures. The candidate will be responsible for preparing the operation theatre, ensuring the availability of instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile conditions, and assisting the surgical team before, during, and after procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Operation Theatre Preparation

- Prepare the OT before scheduled surgical procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, implants, and consumables are available and ready.
- Check OT equipment and report any malfunction or shortage immediately.
- Maintain proper OT cleanliness, hygiene, and sterile environment.
- Assist in setting up the OT according to the type of procedure.

During Surgery

- Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures as required.
- Provide required surgical instruments and materials during operations.
- Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Assist with surgical positioning and preparation of patients.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, anaesthesia team, and surgeons.
- Ensure proper handling and availability of orthopaedic instruments and implants.

Post-Operative Responsibilities

- Assist with cleaning,



disinfection, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments.
- Ensure used instruments are properly accounted for and sent for sterilization.
- Prepare the OT for the next scheduled procedure.
- Maintain OT records, checklists, and documentation.
- Monitor stock of surgical consumables and report shortages.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of OT procedures, sterilization, and aseptic techniques.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and OT equipment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies calmly.
- Good attention to detail.
- Strong sense of responsibility and patient safety.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.

Eligibility
- Qualification: B.Sc. / Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or equivalent.
- Freshers can apply.
- Candidates with 0–3 years of experience in hospitals or operation theatres will be preferred.
- Experience in orthopaedic OT will be an added advantage.
- Candidates should be willing to work in shifts and during emergency procedures when required.
