Role & responsibilities :
. Project Leadership & Execution
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for multiple power transmission projects.
- Lead end-to-end execution of EHV/HV transmission projects, including transmission lines and substations.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved cost, schedule, quality, and safety parameters.
- Monitor project progress, identify critical issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Establish project execution strategies, milestones, KPIs, and governance mechanisms.
1. Technical & Engineering Management
- Oversee engineering, design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Review project designs, technical specifications, BOQs, drawings, and method statements.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, consultants, EPC contractors, and technical agencies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable CEA, CERC, IEC, IS and relevant utility/client standards.
1. Project Planning & Controls
- Develop and monitor project schedules, resource plans, budgets, and execution plans.
- Review project MIS, dashboards, cost reports, cash flow, and progress reports.
- Ensure effective management of project risks, delays, variations, and claims.
- Drive productivity improvement and optimize project resources.
1. Commercial & P&L; Management
- Take ownership of project P&L;, revenue, margins, cash flow, and working capital.
- Monitor contracts, billing, collections, variations, escalation, and claims.
- Support contract negotiations and resolution of commercial disputes.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved project profitability.
1. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Power Utilities, Government Departments, PSUs, consultants, EPC partners, and other stakeholders.
- Lead senior-level discussions with clients regarding project progress, technical issues, contractual matters, and commercial negotiations.
- Manage escalations and ensure timely resolution of client concerns.
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Coordinate with procurement and supply-chain teams for timely availability of critical materials and equipment.
- Oversee vendor/subcontractor selection, performance, and delivery.
- Ensure timely procurement of major equipment such as conductors, towers, transformers, switchgear, cables, insulators, protection systems, and associated materials.
1. Safety & Quality
- Drive a robust culture of HSE, quality, and compliance across all project sites.
- Ensure implementation of safety procedures, quality plans, inspections, testing, and commissioning protocols.
- Monitor site safety performance and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
1. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor senior project managers, engineering, construction, commercial, planning,
procurement, and support teams.
- Build a high-performance project organization with clear accountability.
- Develop succession planning and capability-building initiatives.
1. Business Development Support
- Support the leadership team in identifying new opportunities in the power transmission and EPC sector.
- Participate in pre-bid discussions, technical reviews, estimation, project feasibility, and strategic bidding.
- Provide inputs for business strategy, market expansion, and key client acquisition.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a reputed institution.
- MBA / PG qualification in Project Management, Business Management, or related field will be an advantage.
- 1520 years of overall experience, preferably with significant experience in power transmission EPC/project execution.
- Proven experience managing large-scale transmission projects and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of EHV/HV transmission lines, substations, EPC execution, testing & commissioning, and project controls.
- Strong exposure to project P&L;, contracts, commercial management, claims, billing, and client management.
- Experience working with Power Utilities, PSUs, Government bodies, consultants, and EPC contractors.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, decision-making, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites as required.
