- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess patients vision and overall eye health.

- Perform visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision tests to identify vision problems.

- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, and certain forms of ocular disease.

- Examine the eyes for signs of conditions that may require referral to an ophthalmologist or other healthcare qualified.

- Prescribe and dispense corrective lenses, including eyeglasses and contact lenses, when appropriate.

- Educate patients on proper contact lens handling, cleaning, wearing schedules, and eye-care practices.

- Monitor patients vision and eye health through regular follow-up examinations.

- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including examination results, diagnoses, prescriptions, and treatment plans.

- Use specialized optometric equipment and diagnostic instruments to evaluate visual function and eye health.

- Provide guidance on preventive eye care, including proper screen use, eye protection, hygiene, and regular examinations.

- Modify genetic material to study gene function or develop useful biological characteristics.

- Perform laboratory procedures such as DNA extraction, PCR, DNA sequencing, cloning, gel electrophoresis, and genetic analysis.

- Design and construct genetic vectors for introducing specific genes or genetic sequences into biological systems.

- Use molecular biology and biotechnology techniques to introduce, modify, or regulate genes.

- Analyze genetic and genomic data using appropriate laboratory software, databases, and bioinformatics tools.

- Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, observations, results, and data interpretations.
