Vehicle Maintenance
- Plan and supervise regular preventive maintenance of trucks and commercial vehicles.
- Inspect vehicles regularly to identify mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.
- Ensure timely servicing, repairs, and replacement of worn-out parts.
- Diagnose breakdowns and coordinate immediate repair work.
- Monitor the condition of engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension, steering, tyres, batteries, cooling systems, and electrical systems.
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and safe before being deployed for operations.
1. Preventive Maintenance
- Prepare and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule based on kilometres, engine hours, time intervals, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Track upcoming services and ensure vehicles are serviced on time.
- Monitor recurring faults and identify their root causes.
- Recommend corrective actions to prevent repeated breakdowns.
1. Breakdown Management
- Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns during operations.
- Coordinate with drivers, workshops, mechanics, and external service providers for breakdown resolution.
- Maintain a record of all breakdowns, causes, repair actions, downtime, and expenses.
- Analyse breakdown patterns and recommend measures to reduce roadside failures.
1. Workshop Management
- Supervise company workshop activities and mechanics.
- Allocate repair and maintenance jobs to technicians.
- Check the quality of repair work before releasing the vehicle.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Maintain workshop discipline, cleanliness, and safety standards.
1. Spare Parts Management
- Identify and arrange required spare parts for vehicle repairs.
- Verify the quality and suitability of spare parts before installation.
- Coordinate with the purchase/store team for timely availability of parts.
- Monitor consumption of major spare parts such as filters, brake components, belts, batteries, suspension parts, lubricants, etc.
- Prevent unnecessary replacement and control spare-part costs.
1. Vendor &
- Service Centre Coordination
- Coordinate with authorized service centres, local workshops, mechanics, tyre vendors, and other maintenance vendors.
- Obtain and compare repair estimates wherever required.
- Verify workshop/service bills against actual work performed.
- Negotiate repair and service costs where applicable.
- Ensure timely completion of outsourced repair jobs.
1. Maintenance Cost Control
- Monitor vehicle-wise maintenance expenses.
- Analyse fuel, lubricant, spare parts, tyre, repair, and service-related costs.
- Identify unnecessary or excessive maintenance expenses.
- Prepare vehicle-wise maintenance cost reports.
- Recommend cost-saving measures without compromising vehicle safety or reliability.
1. Vehicle Inspection &
- Fitness
- Conduct periodic inspection of all trucks.
- Ensure vehicles comply with company safety standards and applicable statutory requirements.
- Monitor fitness certificates, permits, insurance, PUC, and other vehicle-related documents in coordination with the concerned team.
- Ensure vehicles are not operated when they have critical safety or mechanical defects.
1. Tyre &
- Battery Management
- Monitor tyre condition, tyre pressure, tread wear, rotation, and alignment.
- Maintain tyre-wise records and monitor tyre life and replacement.
- Identify abnormal tyre wear and take corrective action.
- Monitor battery health, replacement schedules, and warranty claims.
- Maintain proper records of tyre and battery issues.
1. Documentation &
- Records
- Maintain complete vehicle maintenance history for every truck.
- Record servicing, repairs, breakdowns, spare parts replaced, labour charges, and maintenance expenses.
- Maintain vehicle-wise service schedules and inspection reports.
- Ensure all maintenance records are updated accurately and on time.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
1. Driver Coordination
- Take feedback from drivers regarding vehicle performance and recurring problems.
- Instruct drivers on basic vehicle care and daily inspection procedures.
- Ensure drivers report mechanical issues immediately.
- Monitor driver-related causes of vehicle damage or excessive wear and tear.
1. Team Supervision
- Supervise mechanics, electricians, technicians, helpers, and other maintenance staff.
- Allocate daily maintenance jobs and monitor completion.
- Ensure technicians follow proper repair procedures.
- Train the maintenance team on safety and proper equipment handling.
- Evaluate team performance and productivity.
1. Safety &
- Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and workshop safety procedures.
- Do not release vehicles with critical mechanical or safety defects.
- Maintain compliance with applicable vehicle and workplace safety requirements.
- Report major safety risks and mechanical failures to management immediately
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
