Company Description Magic Bus India Foundation, founded in 1999 by Matthew Spacie, supports young people to move out of poverty and lead fulfilling lives through education and employability initiatives. Its Childhood to Livelihood programme serves adolescents and youth aged 12 to 24, reaching over 1 million young people across 24 states and 75 districts in India. The organization operates hundreds of Community Learning Centres and schools, as well as Livelihood Centres and Entrepreneurship Incubation Centres to provide skilling and economic opportunities.

Through dedicated Childhood, Livelihood, and Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, Magic Bus focuses on life skills, education support, employability training, job placements, and mentoring for aspiring entrepreneurs, especially from underserved communities. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a Life and Employability Skills Trainer. The trainer will deliver structured training sessions on life skills and soft skills to adolescents and young adults, using interactive and experiential methodologies aligned with Magic Bus curricula.

Responsibilities include planning and preparing session content, facilitating group activities, conducting assessments, and tracking participant progress. The role involves coordinating with centre staff and community stakeholders, motivating learners to complete programmes,



and supporting their transition to education, vocational training, or employment opportunities. The trainer will also contribute to reporting, documentation, and continuous improvement of training modules, ensuring sessions are inclusive, engaging, and contextually relevant.

Qualifications

Salary : Around 30K per months over and above travel & mobile reimbursement

Location: Medavakkam, Chennai

- Candidates should possess strong Training & Development skills, including experience designing and delivering interactive training sessions.
- Candidates should possess effective Presentation Skills to facilitate engaging group sessions and workshops.
- Candidates should possess Life Skills facilitation capabilities, such as teaching decision-making, problem-solving, resilience, and self-management.
- Candidates should possess solid Communication and Soft Skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to work with diverse groups of youth.
- Relevant experience in youth development, employability training, or education, preferably in the social sector or NGOs.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, psychology, humanities, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English and local languages used in Chennai, with strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Comfort working in community-based settings, willingness to travel locally as needed, and a demonstrated commitment to inclusion and equal prospect.
