Position Overview The Test Automation Engineer will design and implement the test‑automation strategy for applications across BNP Paribas Personal Finance. The role is responsible for creating maintainable automated test frameworks, developing functional UI and API test cases, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and delivering clear test documentation and reports. The engineer works closely with business analysts, developers and product owners to ensure traceability to requirements and early defect detection.

Job Responsibilities

- Propose and maintain a scalable test‑automation strategy, including framework design and modularisation.
- Design functional UI and API test scenarios that are fully traceable to business requirements.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.) and schedule regular execution.
- Identify, document and track software defects using the agreed bug‑tracking system.
- Analyse automated test results, debug scripts and continuously improve test reliability.
- Produce transparent test artefacts – test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data specifications and test reports.
- Coordinate the creation and maintenance of test data, supporting risk‑assessment activities.
- Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders and product owners in Agile ceremonies.
- Share knowledge, promote best practices and contribute to tool‑set enhancements, including the use of AI‑assisted testing where appropriate.

Required Education, Skills, AND Experience (MUST‑HAVE)

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Banking, Finance or a related discipline.




- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in UI and API test automation using Java, Selenium, Cucumber and RestAssured.
- Strong proficiency with Maven for build, dependency and lifecycle management.
- Experience with cloud‑based cross‑browser testing platforms such as BrowserStack or DigitalAI.
- Solid understanding of Git workflows (push, pull, merge, fetch, rebase).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey test strategies to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Proven ability to plan, organise and manage time effectively, and to troubleshoot across the software development lifecycle.
- Good knowledge of Agile methodologies.

Preferred Education, Skills, AND Experience (NICE‑TO‑HAVE)

- Experience on banking or financial services projects.
- ISTQB certification.
- Exposure to Serenity BDD (orchestration, reporting, DSLs).
- Hands‑on experience with manual API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
- Practical experience configuring CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitLab.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted testing tools for test design and execution.
