Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Spares Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation maintenance spares.

The role will focus on optimising Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), developing domestic and international supplier networks, and ensuring seamless supply chain continuity for critical manufacturing assets. The position will also support centralised technical spares procurement, procurement process optimisation, inventory management, supplier relationship management, and digital transformation of procurement processes.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of maintenance spares, strategic sourcing expertise, commercial acumen, and experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in manufacturing and industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Sourcing &
- Global Supply Chain

- Lead global and domestic sourcing for Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, and Instrumentation Opex maintenance spares and services.
- Map and source equipment spare parts from key manufacturing markets, including India, China, Europe, and other international regions.
- Execute centralised technical spares procurement across relevant business operations to leverage economies of scale.
- Oversee international logistics, customs clearance coordination, import documentation compliance, and door-to-door delivery tracking for critical spares.

- Cost Optimisation





- Drive aggressive cost-saving targets using strategic negotiation tactics, Value-in-Use (VIU) modelling, market benchmarking, and alternate vendor development.
- Identify alternate vendors, Original Component Manufacturers (OCMs), and spare parts fabricators to reduce dependency on sole-source OEMs and mitigate proprietary supply risks.
- Structure robust rate contracts, catalogue sourcing, and enterprise-wide supply agreements to optimise procurement value.

- P2P Streamlining

- Lead the implementation and operational rollout of Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes across relevant business operations.
- Streamline end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes by digitising requisition-to-PO workflows, automating approval hierarchies, and enhancing supplier collaboration.
- Utilise system-generated spend analytics to drive policy compliance, eliminate transactional bottlenecks, and optimise cycle times across procurement operations.

- Inventory &
- Category Management

- Rationalise and optimise maintenance spare inventories across manufacturing facilities, improving SKU visibility, mapping parts to equipment/lines, and carrying out ageing analysis.
- Partner closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Stores teams to establish optimal reorder levels and safety stock for critical spares while minimising working capital.

- Stakeholder &
- Supplier Relationship Management

- Build and manage performance frameworks for global and local technical supplier networks to ensure strict adherence to quality, lead times, and SLA standards.
- Act as a key procurement partner to site engineers, plant managers, and executive leadership, translating technical plant needs into efficient commercial strategies.

Skills Required

- 5–9 years of core experience in MRO / Technical Spares Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Category Management.
- Experience within large-scale manufacturing, continuous process industries, FMCG, or heavy industrial environments.
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.




- MBA in Supply Chain / Operations is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement &
- Supply), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), or CSCP (APICS) are desirable.
- Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation spares, maintenance machinery, original component sourcing, alternate vendor development, and global supplier landscapes.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-border logistics, import compliance, and international vendor management, particularly across India, China, Europe, and Asia.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and negotiating complex contracts.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, high work commitment, agility, and the ability to operate effectively in a multi-entity, cross-functional environment.

Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in MRO and Technical Spares Procurement.
- Experience in Strategic Sourcing and Category Management.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation spares.
- Experience with OEM / OCM sourcing and alternate vendor development.
- Knowledge of domestic and international supplier markets.
- Experience in global sourcing and cross-border procurement.
- Strong understanding of international logistics, customs clearance, and import documentation.
- Expertise in cost optimisation, market benchmarking, and commercial negotiations.
- Experience with Value-in-Use (VIU) modelling and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Experience in developing and managing rate contracts, catalogue sourcing, and supply agreements.
- Strong knowledge of inventory and category management for technical spares.
- Experience with SKU visibility, equipment/line mapping, and inventory ageing analysis.
- Understanding of reorder levels and safety stock management.
- Experience in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and supplier performance frameworks.
- Knowledge of Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
- Experience with spend analytics, procurement digitisation, and process optimisation.
- Solid understanding of supplier quality, lead-time, SLA, and performance management.
