Role & responsibilities

Tonbo Imaging is a leading Indian defence technology company specialising in advanced imaging, sensor systems and integrated surveillance solutions, deployed with the Indian Armed Forces and friendly foreign nations.

The Technical Marketing Executive prepares the technical documentation submitted to the Ministry of Defence, to the Services and to international customers. The work is not confined to the office: the person in this role visits units, trial locations, field evaluations and exhibitions to see at first hand how our systems are used and what the customer needs, and carries that understanding back into the documents.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare technical responses to RFIs, RFPs, Quotation Requests and call-up letters for MoD, the Services and international customers, on the standard Tonbo template.
2. Prepare the complete documentation package that accompanies a response: technical write-ups, compliance matrices, product support, training, warranty, deliverables and acceptance test procedures.
3. Visit units, trials, field evaluations and exhibitions to understand the product in use and the customer's operational requirement, and translate that into the documentation.
4. Collect technical inputs from engineering and product teams, route each document to the responsible department head for validation, and track it to closure.
5. Maintain the response template, the proposal library and the submission calendar what is due, and what is at risk.

Preferred candidate profile

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical,



Instrumentation or an allied discipline.
- Experience: Up to 4 years in technical proposals, tender responses or compliance documentation. Fresh engineering graduates with demonstrably strong writing will be considered; defence or aerospace exposure is an advantage.
- Technical writing: Accurate, structured technical English. This is the central skill of the role, and candidates will be assessed on it.
- Domain understanding: Familiarity with electro-optics, thermal imaging or sensor systems or the engineering aptitude to acquire it quickly and accurately.
- Field readiness: Willing to travel at short notice to units, test ranges, trial locations and exhibitions typically three to five days a month.
- Tools and discipline: Advanced MS Word – styles, templates, tables of contents and cross-references – with Excel and PowerPoint. Keeps version control and meets deadlines without being chased.
- Use of AI tools (mandatory): The team drafts, researches and quality-checks using AI assistants running on Tonbo's own templates. Prior hands-on experience is an advantage; training will be given.
- Eligibility: Indian national. The position is full-time and permanent, and is subject to standard background verification.
- Writing sample: Applications that include one technical document you have written and are willing to share will be given preference.
