JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Technical Artist to join our team and work on our narrative-driven simulator game: Totally Normal Pharmacy Simulator. As a Technical Artist, you will work as a bridge between the artistic and technical departments, ensuring that art assets are optimized for use within our game engine while maintaining high-quality visual standards. You will collaborate closely with artists, designers, and engineers to create tools, scripts, and workflows that enhance the development process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Working with the lead artist and programmers to develop, implement, structure and maintain the games’ models, materials, UI, shaders & animations
2. Ensure art assets (textures, models, shaders, animations, etc.) are optimized for performance without compromising visual quality
3. Work closely with the Art and Engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of assets into the game engine and assist with troubleshooting technical art issues
4. Provide technical support to artists and other team members, helping them understand and work within the limitations of the engine
5.
Identify performance bottlenecks related to art assets and implement solutions to address them
6. Write and maintain documentation for workflows, tools, and best practices
REQUIREMENTS:
1. 1-2 years professional experience as a technical artist (Unity)
2. Ability and willingness to adapt and learn new skills on the job
3. Robust knowledge of the Unity game engine and related skills, including UI, animation, shaders and post-processing techniques
4. Knowledge of optimization techniques & profiling to improve performance
5. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and effective time management
7. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
GOOD TO HAVES:
1. Experience with 3D animation and editing
2. Understanding of visual effects (VFX) workflows.
