Role & responsibilities

Operational Delivery & Process Excellence

- Lead and develop the team to execute end-to-end intercompany financial accounting and reporting processes, ensuring all

activities are recorded accurately, reported timely, and delivered with high standards of integrity, transparency, and operational excellence.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to enable smooth delivery of accounting and

reporting activities, providing expert support on requests, issues, projects, audits, and planning cycles.
- Drive simplification, standardisation, and continuous improvement by empowering the team to design and implement

process and system enhancements, ensuring best practices are shared and embedded across the wider Intercompany Hub.
- Oversee the analysis, explanation, and validation of financial reports and account balances, ensuring insights are reliable, data

is retained appropriately, and outputs support informed decision-making.
- Demonstrate strong technical capability across SAP, Blackline, AO tools and other IC systems to guide operations,

troubleshooting, and solutioning.
- Ensure strict compliance with bps Code of Conduct, Values & Behaviours, and all relevant accounting, reporting, and internal

control frameworks. Leadership & People Management
- Deliver all people-management responsibilities in line with organisational policies and legal requirements.
- Plan, assign, and guide work for team members, ensuring clarity of priorities, expectations, and deliverables.
- Set goals, provide timely performance feedback, and conduct appraisals for direct reports as required.




- Coach team members to close process gaps, identify inefficiencies, and build a culture of continuous improvement and

operational discipline.
- Mentor and develop talent by providing guidance, stretch opportunities, and long-term career development support,

safeguard retention of key talent.
- Identify and secure learning and development opportunities to strengthen team capability and ensure competency for

current and future demands.
- Foster a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration, and high performance within the team.
- Manage resource allocation and workforce planning to support FBT service delivery, controls, and cost requirements—ensuring flexibility to respond to variable business demand. Business Understanding & Strategic Partnership • Demonstrate strong understanding of bp’s business context to ensure delivery of high-quality accounting, reporting, and control outcomes aligned with business needs. • Partner effectively with People & Culture and relevant teams to ensure the organisation has the right capabilities, skills, and experience to operate in a rapid-paced and complex environment. • Respond swiftly and effectively to changing business requirements, ensuring the team adapts to evolving priorities.

1. Qualification & Experience and Competencies

Education & Experience
- Finance & Accounting graduate or qualified professional (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA) with 15+ years of proven experience delivering

end-to-end financial accounting and reporting processes with a strong record of operational excellence.
- Extensive Record-to-Report (R2R) operational experience, with deep understanding of accounting, reporting, controls and

financial governance frameworks; prior experience managing high-performing teams with full delivery accountability.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP financial modules, intercompany functionality, and reporting tools; hands-on experience with

BlackLine, AO/analysis tools, and other finance systems used in IC operations.
- Demonstrated ability in process re-engineering, standardisation, and continuous improvement, with a strong drive for process

transformation and digital enablement.
- Prior experience in the Oil & Energy industry with sound understanding of sector-specific terminology, business processes, and

operational models.
- Proven involvement in process transformation initiatives, including design, implementation, and change management across

finance operations.
- In-depth knowledge of R2R processes, including key controls, reconciliations, KPIs, metrics, and risk & control considerations.
- Flexibility to work across global time zones, including US time zones, to support business demands.
