Position Overview

SR Group of Institutions, Jhansi is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant in Physics to join the Department of Applied Science. The candidate will support senior faculty members in delivering the Engineering Physics curriculum to undergraduate engineering (B.Tech) students. The ideal candidate holds an M.Sc. in Physics, demonstrates strong laboratory expertise, and possesses a passion for academic instruction and student mentorship.

Key Responsibilities1. Laboratory Instruction & Management

- Conduct and supervise hands-on Engineering Physics practical sessions for B.Tech students.
- Explain experimental concepts, demonstrate equipment setup, and enforce laboratory safety protocols.
- Maintain Physics laboratory equipment (e.g., spectrometers, lasers, fiber optics kits, oscilloscopes) in working condition.
- Maintain inventory logs, report equipment maintenance needs, and assist in setting up new experiments.

1. Academic Support & Tutorials

- Lead problem-solving tutorial sessions on core Engineering Physics topics (e.g., Quantum Mechanics, Wave Optics, Electromagnetism, Semiconductor Physics).
- Help senior faculty draft lab manuals, tutorial sheets, and practice problem sets.




- Hold designated office hours to address student queries and provide academic support to first-year engineering students.
- Assist faculty in evaluating practical record books, quizzes, assignments, and internal lab exams.

1. Administrative & Departmental Duties

- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, practical marks, and continuous assessment scores.
- Assist in departmental documentation for accreditation processes (such as NAAC, NBA, or university audits).
- Support the organization of department workshops, science exhibitions, guest lectures, and institute events.
- Undertake additional academic or administrative tasks assigned by the Head of Department.

Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: M.Sc. in Physics from a recognized university or institute with a strong academic background (preferably First Division / 60% or above).
- Technical Knowledge: Solid command of foundational and applied Physics concepts, along with practical expertise in standard physics laboratory instruments.
- Communication: Explicit verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi for effective instruction and student engagement.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for record-keeping, mark sheets, and presenting instructional materials.
- Desirable (Bonus): CSIR-NET / GATE qualification or prior experience working as a teaching or lab assistant in an engineering institution.

Pay: ₹12,000.80 - ₹16,000.37 per month
