Metallic Store Supervisor
– METALLIC STORE SUPERVISOR
Department: Stores / Materials
Designation: Metallic Store Supervisor
Reporting To: Store Manager / Factory Manager
Location: Meera Metyarn Pvt. Ltd.
1. Job Purpose
To supervise and control the day-to-day operations of the Metallic Store, ensuring proper receipt, storage, identification, issue, and record-keeping of metallic materials, spare parts, tools, and other store items. The position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, proper documentation, safety, housekeeping, and timely material availability to production and maintenance departments.
1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Material Receiving
- Receive metallic materials, spare parts, tools, and other items as per Purchase Order and approved requirements.
- Verify quantity, specification, size, quality, and physical condition of received materials.
- Check materials against Purchase Order, Invoice, Delivery Challan, and GRN.
- Report shortages, excess quantities, damages, or quality issues to the concerned department.
- Ensure proper tagging, identification, and location marking of received materials.
B. Material Storage & Management
- Store all materials systematically in designated bins/racks/locations.
- Maintain proper bin cards and location-wise inventory records.
- Ensure safe stacking and handling of heavy and metallic materials.
- Take necessary precautions against rust, corrosion, damage, and deterioration.
- Maintain separate identification for usable, damaged, rejected, obsolete, and non-moving materials.
- Follow FIFO wherever applicable.
C. Material Issue & Return
- Issue materials to Production, Maintenance, and other departments against authorized material requisitions.
- Ensure correct quantity and specification before issuing materials.
- Record all material issues, returns, transfers, and adjustments in ERP/registers.
- Verify returned materials and ensure proper re-entry into stock.
- Prevent unauthorized material movement from the store.
D. Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate physical and system stock.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Identify and report stock shortages, excess stock, and discrepancies.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Prepare material requirement and reorder lists for low-stock items.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, excess, and obsolete materials.
- Maintain proper records of stock consumption.
E. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain GRN, issue slips, return slips, stock registers, bin cards, and other required documents.
- Update ERP/system records on time.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
- Provide inventory and consumption data to Management as required.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.
F. Coordination
- Coordinate with the Purchase Department regarding pending and incoming materials.
- Coordinate with Production and Maintenance Departments regarding material requirements.
- Communicate shortages and urgent requirements to the concerned departments.
- Coordinate with Accounts/Purchase for invoice and documentation-related discrepancies.
G. Team Supervision
- Allocate daily work to store helpers and other store staff.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and work quality.
- Train store staff regarding material handling, documentation, safety, and 5S.
- Ensure employees follow company rules and store procedures.
H. 5S, Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain proper 5S and housekeeping within the Metallic Store.
- Ensure materials are stored safely and accessibly.
- Ensure proper use of PPE while handling metallic/heavy materials.
- Maintain clear walkways, emergency exits, and fire-safety access.
- Report unsafe conditions, hazards, and incidents immediately.
- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures.
I. Audit & Compliance
- Support internal, external, and factory audits.
- Provide accurate stock records and supporting documents during audits.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and store procedures.
- Take corrective action for store-related audit observations.
1. Key Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of store and inventory management.
- Knowledge of ERP/software and MS Excel.
- Good understanding of stock control and material documentation.
- Positive communication and coordination skills.
- Leadership and team-handling ability.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Knowledge of 5S, safety, and material handling.
- Ability to maintain systematic records.
Pay: Up to ₹20,000.00 per month
