Role Description The Store and Purchase Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at The Shalimar Hotel in Mumbai. The role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring timely replenishment of supplies required for hotel operations. The Store and Purchase Assistant will prepare and process purchase orders, coordinate with suppliers, track deliveries, and verify quality and quantity against purchase documents.

The position also includes organizing and maintaining the store area, conducting regular stock checks, assisting in procurement-related documentation,



and collaborating with departments to understand and meet their material and supply needs. The role requires adherence to hotel policies and cost-control practices while supporting smooth and efficient back-of-house operations.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and experience handling purchase orders and purchasing activities.
- Foundational understanding of procurement practices and ability to coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers.
- Attention to detail in inventory management, record keeping, and verification of goods received.
- Basic proficiency with MS Office or inventory management software and comfort with documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in stores, purchasing, or materials management, ideally within hospitality or related industries.
- Minimum of a high school diploma; a degree or certification in supply chain, commerce, or related field is an advantage.
