By bringing portable planetariums and astronomy labs directly to schools, Navars enables students to explore, engage, and experience astro concepts in a hands-on way, especially in communities that lack traditional planetarium facilities.

Role Description The STEM Program Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area, responsible for planning, implementing, and managing astronomy and STEM education programs. This role involves designing curriculum and activities for school outreach, astronomy labs, and DIY kits, as well as coordinating portable planetarium events and workshops.

The STEM Program Manager will collaborate with educators, school administrators, and internal teams to schedule programs, manage logistics, and ensure high-quality delivery of learning experiences. Daily tasks include overseeing program operations, training facilitators, tracking outcomes,



and preparing reports and documentation to improve program effectiveness. The role also includes engaging with partners and stakeholders, collecting feedback from participants, and supporting marketing and awareness initiatives that promote Navars Spacetech’s educational offerings.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in STEM education, preferably with experience in astronomy, space science, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated program or project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating educational activities and events.
- Experience working with schools, educators, or learning centers, with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts in an accessible way.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and capacity to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills and stakeholder engagement.
- Comfort with on-site operational work, including managing equipment such as portable planetariums and interactive lab setups.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in STEM education are an advantage.
- Prior experience in outreach, community engagement, or edtech organizations is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and support inclusive, learner-centric practices.
