Staff Nurse – Multiple Departments

Position: Staff Nurse

Departments: NICU | PICU | OT | ER/Casualty | LDR | IVF | OBG Ward | Pediatric Ward | OPD | General Ward | HDU | ICU | Other Nursing Departments

Location: Across all Ovum Hospitals Units

Qualification: GNM / B.Sc Nursing

Registration: Karnataka Nursing Council (KNC) registration is mandatory

Experience: 0–5+ years depending on the department and position

Key Responsibilities

- Provide safe, compassionate and quality nursing care to patients.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall clinical condition.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids and treatments as prescribed.
- Maintain accurate nursing records, patient files and documentation.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures and clinical interventions.
- Follow infection control, patient safety and hospital protocols.
- Ensure proper handover and coordination with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding treatment, medication and basic care.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety and proper functioning of the nursing station and patient-care areas.
- Handle emergency situations effectively and escalate critical conditions promptly.
- Ensure proper checking, maintenance and availability of emergency equipment and supplies.
- Follow medication safety and nursing protocols at all times.
- Participate in shift handovers, audits, training programs and quality initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Nursing In-charge / Nursing Superintendent.

Department-Specific Responsibilities NICU: Care of neonates, monitoring vital parameters, incubator/warmer care, feeding, medication administration and assisting in neonatal emergencies.

PICU: Monitoring critically ill pediatric patients, medication administration, ventilator support assistance and emergency care.

OT: Pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, surgical assistance, instrument/sponge counts, OT preparation and infection-control protocols.





ER / Casualty: Triage assistance, emergency response, IV access, medication administration, monitoring and assisting doctors during emergency procedures.

LDR: Labour monitoring, assisting during normal/assisted deliveries, fetal monitoring, immediate newborn care and assisting in obstetric emergencies.

IVF: Pre- and post-procedure care, medication administration, patient counselling, procedure assistance and maintaining IVF-related documentation.

OBG Ward: Antenatal/postnatal care, medication administration, monitoring mothers and newborns, assisting doctors and patient education.

Pediatric Ward: Pediatric patient monitoring, medication administration, nutritional care, patient/attendant education and emergency response.

OPD: Patient assessment, vitals monitoring, assisting doctors during consultations/procedures, injections/dressings and maintaining OPD records.

General Ward / HDU / ICU: Patient monitoring, medication administration, critical-care support as applicable, documentation, emergency response and coordination with the treating team.

Candidate Requirements

- GNM / B.Sc Nursing qualification.
- Valid Karnataka Nursing Council (KNC) registration – mandatory.
- Relevant department experience will be preferred for specialized areas.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts / night shifts.
- Candidates should be willing to work at any Ovum Hospital unit as per organizational requirement.
