Sr. Adobe EDS & Commerce Developer – Global Web Team

Location: Bangalore

About Allegion: At Allegion, we help keep people safe and secure where they live, work and visit. With more than 25 brands sold in almost 130 countries, we specialize in security around the doorway and beyond: residential and commercial locks, door closers and exit devices, steel doors and frames, access control and workforce productivity systems.

About the role : We are hiring a Senior Adobe Edge Delivery Services & Commerce Developer to design and build high-performance, headless e‑commerce storefronts that tightly integrate authored CMS content with live commerce data. This role is focused on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) + Edge Delivery Services (EDS) front-end architecture and Adobe Commerce (Magento) integrations via GraphQL (Commerce Integration Framework—CIF).

You will deliver fast, accessible, maintainable storefronts (cart, PDP, PLP, checkout) using the Adobe Commerce Storefront Boilerplate for EDS and reusable block/drop‑in components.

This is an AI-first role: you will embed AI capabilities across the commerce experience to improve personalization, content authoring, search, automation, and operational intelligence while ensuring responsible, secure and performant deployments.

You will

- Lead development of lightning-fast storefront experiences using AEM/EDS + Adobe Commerce (Magento) integration patterns (Storefront Boilerplate, CIF).
- Build and style reusable front-end blocks and drop-in UI components (cart, checkout, product listing, promos, content slots) with semantic HTML5, up-to-date CSS, and vanilla JS (ES6+) and/or lightweight frameworks where needed.
- Integrate authored content (AEM Sites/EDS/Universal Editor) with real-time catalog, inventory and pricing from Adobe Commerce via GraphQL APIs; implement client- and edge-side data binding patterns.
- Implement edge‑side rendering, serverless/edge logic and caching strategies to optimize Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse scores.
- Drive performance and accessibility best practices (Lighthouse, CWV, ARIA), and implement automated performance regression checks.
- Own CI/CD, developer workflows and release practices (Git, GitHub Actions/workflows, branch strategies, automated tests).
- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards and front-end architecture guidelines; mentor junior developers.
- Collaborate with UX, product, backend (Magento/PHP or microservices), and global cross-functional teams through discovery, design, build, QA and operations.
- Troubleshoot production issues, tune caching/CDN (edge)

behavior, and support rollouts across regions.

AI-first responsibilities :

- Design and implement AI-driven personalization across site experiences (product recommendations, dynamic promotions, content variants) combining CMS authored content with commerce signals.
- Integrate LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows to power features such as AI-assisted product descriptions, on-site chat/virtual assistants, guided shopping, and contextual help; ensure responses are grounded by catalog and policy data.
- Build semantic search and discovery using embeddings and vector stores to improve product findability and content relevance across CMS and commerce datasets.
- Enable AI-first authoring in AEM/EDS (e.g., content generation templates, smart suggestions, automated metadata/alt-text enrichment) while preserving editorial control and audit trails.
- Implement real-time personalization pipelines that use user behavior, product signals and AI models while respecting privacy and consent controls.
- Automate routine QA and performance checks with AI-assisted test generation and anomaly detection for RUM/synthetic monitoring.
- Integrate and orchestrate AI model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure AI, Amazon Bedrock, etc.), vector DBs (Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate), and back-end caching/CDN layers for low-latency inference at the edge.
- Define and enforce AI governance: prompt/version management, hallucination mitigation, bias monitoring, data minimization, PII handling, and model/feature telemetry.
- Collaborate with data science/ML teams to operationalize models, manage model lifecycle, and roll out experiments (A/B/n) that measure business KPIs (conversion, AOV, engagement).
- Ensure security, compliance and PCI-safe implementations for any commerce flows that touch payment or sensitive customer data.

Technical requirements :

- 5+ years software development experience; senior-level experience in front-end or full-stack web development.
- Advanced proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (BEM/utility-first patterns), and vanilla JavaScript (ES6+). Strong focus on semantic markup and accessibility.

- Hands-on experience with AEM Sites and Edge Delivery Services (EDS), including Universal Editor / document-based authoring.
- Proven experience integrating AEM/EDS with Adobe Commerce (Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce) using CIF and GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with the Adobe Commerce Storefront Boilerplate for EDS and patterns for block/drop-in componentization.
- Strong knowledge of GraphQL (queries, mutations, fragments, caching) and RESTful API consumption patterns.
- Experience implementing edge-side rendering and serverless approaches (edge functions, CDN configuration) to improve performance.
- Familiarity with modern front-end toolchains (Node.js, npm/yarn, bundlers like Webpack/Vite), automated testing (unit/e2e), and browser debugging/perf tooling.
- Solid experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI), and automated pipelines.
- Practical experience integrating LLMs/APIs, embeddings/vector search, or other ML-driven capabilities into production web applications.
- Awareness of AI safety, privacy, and governance concerns when deploying generative AI in customer-facing applications.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and collaborating with geographically distributed teams.

Nice to have :

- Prior Adobe Commerce / Magento backend experience (PHP) or working knowledge of Magento module architecture.
- Knowledge of React, Preact or other lightweight frameworks when componentization requires it.
- Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service and AEM 6.5.
- Familiarity with Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, personalization and telemetry integrations.
- Experience with CDN configuration (Fastly, Akamai), edge compute platforms, and serverless functions.
- Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate) and RAG implementations.
- Hands-on with LLM providers and orchestration tools (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, LangChain/LLM SDKs).
- Experience with design systems, pattern libraries, and component-driven development.
- Understanding of security best practices for commerce (CSP, XSS, PCI considerations).
- Experience with performance budgets, Lighthouse CI and synthetic/real-user monitoring (RUM).

What we offer :

- Opportunity to build world-class, enterprise-grade commerce experiences at scale with an AI-first mindset.
- Cross-functional, global team collaboration and a focus on modern web architecture, performance and responsible AI.
- Mentorship, technical leadership responsibility, and a culture that values innovation and continuous improvement.
