Job Title: Solution Architect (PIM Ecosystem)
Location: Remote (India)
Experience: 10+ years
Solution Architect role for PIM Ecosystem
Owns the end-to-end design of the PIM ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration between PIM, DAM, ERP, and downstream systems, while defining scalable data models, integration patterns, and governance-aligned architecture to enable a single, consistent source of product truth
1. Core role definition (grounded)
- The Solution Architect:
- Designs the end-to-end architecture across PIM, DAM, ERP, and integrations
- Ensures product data flows consistently across systems, supporting a single source of truth
- orchestrating:
- P360 (PIM)
- ERP / SAP (factory + local)
- DAM (Adobe)
- Middleware (e.g., BizTalk)
- Downstream channels (ABB Products, eCommerce, partners)
2. End-to-end architecture ownership
System landscape design
- Define which system owns which data domain
- PIM → product data & enrichment
- DAM → digital assets
- ERP → transactional master data
- Decide central vs. distributed architecture
- Global vs local systems inclusion
Integration architecture
- Define integration patterns:
- Event-based vs batch
- API vs middleware
- Ensure bidirectional synchronization where needed
- Minimize duplication and inconsistencies
- e.g.
- PIM ↔ DAM asset synchronization
- PIM ↔ SAP product master data exchange
3. Data model & master data strategy
Data model design
- Define:
- Product hierarchies (e.g., offering tree)
- Attribute models (thousands of attributes in P360 context)
- Classification standards (ETIM, eCl@ss)
- Ensure flexibility for:
- Global + local data coexistence
- Future evolution
Master Data governance alignment
- PIM sits at the center but must coexist or integrate with MDM decisions
- Align with:
- Data owners / stewards
- Governance rules and validation
- Support:
- Data dictionary definitions
- Data lifecycle (creation → enrichment → publication)
4. PIM–DAM–MDM ecosystem orchestration
Cross-system consistency
- Ensure:
- Product-data-to-asset linkage integrity
- No mismatch across channels
- Define:
- Metadata synchronization model
- Asset lifecycle integration
- Example:
- DAM stores assets
- PIM stores product context and links them
- Both sync continuously
5. Integration with business processes
Process alignment
- Map architecture to:
- Product creation process (PCP)
- Enrichment workflows
- Approval and publication flows
- Ensure architecture supports:
- Automation
- Scalability
- Localization
Business impact
- Reduce:
- Manual effort
- Time-to-market
- Enable:
- Omnichannel publishing
- Consistent product experience
6. Technology & non-functional design
Key responsibilities
- Define:
- Security & access model
- Performance & scalability
- Availability & resilience
- Ensure:
- GDPR / compliance (especially DAM assets)
- Auditability
7. Governance & decision-making role
- The Solution Architect acts as the technical authority:
- translating business needs into architecture
- supporting program delivery feasibility
- align on Data Governance rules
- guide Integration implementation
- ensure coherent technical direction
- avoid fragmented integration choices
