AFCS Functional Consultant is responsible for designing, configuring, and validating accounting and Finance Processes in Oracle Accounting Foundation Cloud Service (AFCS). The role bridges finance users, GL, ERP teams, and technical teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate accounting, and controlled financial close.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead functional requirement gathering for accounting, subledger, and finance
- processes.
- Configure AFCS accounting rules, event types, accounting treatments, and posting logic.
- Define and validate Chart of Accounts (COA), legal entities, ledgers, currencies,
- calendars, and accounting periods.
- Design end to end accounting flows from source systems → AFCS → ERP GL.




- Define reconciliation scenarios between:

o Source systems vs AFCS o AFCS vs Subledgers o AFCS vs GL
- Design and govern manual and automated adjustments, reversals, reprocessing, and audit controls.
- Support SIT, UAT, Parallel Run, and GoLive, including finance sign offs.
- Work closely with auditors, finance controllers, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Define BAU governance for postgolive accounting changes and new product

Onboarding.

Functional Skills

- Knowledge robust understanding of:

o Financial Accounting & Close processes o General Ledger, Subledger accounting o Reconciliations, Adjustments, Suspense handling

Experience working with

o Oracle AFCS, GL, FAH / AHCS (good to have)

o OFSAA (good to have – transition to AFCS)

Banking domain knowledge (Wholesale/Retail/Capital Markets preferred).

Understanding regulatory expectations (audit traceability, controls, SoD).

Experience

- Qualifications 10+ years in Banking / Finance transformation programs.
- Prior experience in AFCS / OFSAA / ERP Finance implementations preferred.
- Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills.
