Software Engineer II

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Software Engineer will be a skilled Database Analyst with expertise in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platforms such as Codebeamer, Polarion , and other similar tools. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and optimizing data within ALM systems to support traceability, compliance, reporting, and cross-functional engineering collaborationparticularly in regulated industries like medical devices.

The Software Engineer will be a part of the RD team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administer and maintain ALM tool databases (e.g., Codebeamer, Polarion), ensuring data integrity, performance, and availability.

Design, develop, and optimize queries and reports to support traceability, compliance, and audit-readiness.

Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) between ALM tools and other systems (e.g., ERP, QMS, PLM).

Analyze large datasets within ALM platforms to support decision-making, quality assurance, and project tracking.

Collaborate with systems engineers, QA, regulatory, and IT teams to align data structures with product development processes and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 26262, IEC 62304).

Support integration of ALM tools with DevOps pipelines, test management systems, and requirements management tools.

Assist with tool configuration, permission management, and workflow customization.





Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations relevant to the product domain.

PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Engineering Manager

Frequent interaction with team members from other disciplines and geographies.

EXPERIENCE

10+ years of experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY

**- Hands-on experience with Codebeamer , Polarion , or other ALM tools (e.g., Jama, Jira, Doors NG).

- Solid SQL skills and experience with relational database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server). ****- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and system engineering workflows.
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices , automotive , aerospace ) is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 14971, IEC 62304, ISO 26262 is a plus. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

EDUCATION

Required: - Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred: - M.E or M.Tech in Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
