About the RoleAB Connectz is looking for a capable and solution-oriented Backend Developer with 2–5 years of professional experience to join our engineering team.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in developing backend applications, REST APIs, database-driven systems, third-party integrations, authentication systems and production-ready server-side applications.

You will work closely with frontend developers, product teams and other engineers to design, develop and maintain reliable, secure and scalable software solutions.

We are looking for a developer who understands backend engineering beyond simply creating APIs — someone who can think logically about application architecture, database design, performance, security, maintainability and production reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications, services and RESTful APIs.
- Build server-side applications using Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS and/or Express.js.
- Design and maintain efficient relational database structures using PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
- Write optimized database queries and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Develop secure authentication and authorization mechanisms including JWT, role-based access control and permission-based access.
- Implement proper API validation, error handling, logging and security practices.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external platforms such as payment gateways, communication services, cloud services and business applications.
- Develop reusable modules and services following clean coding and software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with frontend developers for seamless API integration and feature implementation.
- Participate in technical discussions, requirement analysis and backend architecture planning.
- Troubleshoot application issues and resolve bugs in development, staging and production environments.
- Perform code reviews and contribute to improving overall code quality and engineering standards.
- Write unit and integration tests for critical application functionality.
- Manage source code using Git and follow structured branching and version-control practices.
- Support application deployment, configuration and production maintenance when required.
- Monitor backend performance and contribute to improving scalability and reliability.
- Maintain technical documentation for APIs, modules and backend workflows.
- Take ownership of assigned modules from requirement understanding through development, testing and deployment.

Required Skills & Experience




- 2–5 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong practical experience with Node.js.
- Good hands-on experience with TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Experience using NestJS, Express.js or similar Node.js backend frameworks.
- Strong understanding of REST API development and integration.
- Good working knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
- Strong understanding of SQL queries, joins, relationships, indexing and database design.
- Experience working with ORMs such as Prisma, TypeORM, Sequelize or equivalent.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming, promises, event-driven architecture and Node.js application lifecycle.
- Experience implementing authentication, authorization, JWT and role-based access control.
- Good understanding of API security, validation and common backend security practices.
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to debug backend applications and identify root causes of technical issues.
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms and software engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to write clean, reusable and maintainable production-quality code.
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving ability.

Preferred / Good to Have
- Experience with Redis for caching, session management or application performance optimization.
- Experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ, Kafka or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized application environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Exposure to services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch or equivalent cloud services.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
- Experience deploying and maintaining backend applications in production environments.
- Familiarity with Nginx, Linux servers and process managers such as PM2.
- Experience with WebSockets or real-time communication systems.
- Knowledge of background jobs, schedulers and asynchronous task processing.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience working with API documentation tools such as Swagger / OpenAPI.
- Familiarity with application logging, monitoring and performance tracking.
- Exposure to SaaS,



CRM, ERP, HRMS or other business software platforms will be an advantage.
