Role & responsibilities :

- Managing multiple software development teams, each with 5-10 developers.

- Define roles, set goals and create project teams to deliver production worthy software

- Performance management to ensure high levels of productivity and creativity

- Balance cost, retention and productivity

- Manage and coach teams leads and project managers

- Guide, mentor, coach and support developers in development and problem solving

- Responsible for software development lifecycle including planning, execution, tracking,

- managing risks and achievement of the time, quality and cost targets through working with team leads.

- Comprehend the software requirements from a product perspective, drive the design of the
- software in accordance with the requirements of the overall system.

- Lead the development of key components of the software and productize them, while adapting
- effective processes for the software development

- Develop plans for software development for meeting the business requirements and track them on a regular basis.

- Manage, mentor and develop team members to ensure they perform at their potential while
- ensuring quality and timeliness in their deliverables

- Manage cost, retention and productivity in software development

- Working closely with sales & marketing, field applications, product design manufacturing teams




- to deliver software with respect to company's business goals

Preferred candidate profile

- 15 to 25 years of experience in developing software for end products

- Experience in managing teams developing high-performance, high-technology software in a
- product development company

- Hands-on exposure to one or more technologies including LabView, Python, C/C++ and Embedded Systems

- Hands-on experience with multithreaded and object-oriented embedded software

- Desirable to have experience in solving algorithmic/signal processing/computer vision problems in software

- Experience in managing software teams with 15+ people

- Experience in managing software engineers and team leads providing inspiration, leadership and support through coaching, mentoring, training, structuring the project teams, job rotation,

- conflict management, career management and performance appraisal

- Ability in recruiting and building performance-oriented software development teams, managing retention, cost and productivity

- Experience in maintaining software and with full software development lifecycle.

- Proven ability in interfacing with disciplines other than software

- Must be robust team player with ability to work in a matrix organization structure

- Exposure to working in a startup/MSME environment will be highly desirable
