YOUR IMPACT:

As a Software Developer at OpenText, you will contribute to the architecture, design, development, and implementation of a large-scale, distributed enterprise server protection product. The product supports backup of both on-premises and cloud-based workloads.

You will independently develop complex software, take ownership of code quality, and work closely with engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions. You will contribute to technical analysis, design, planning, and problem-solving while ensuring issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:

- Work on an enterprise-scale server protection product supporting on-premises and cloud-based workloads.
- Contribute to software architecture, design, development, and implementation.
- Develop complex software independently and take ownership of deliverables.




- Participate in code reviews and take proactive steps to prevent defects.
- Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams through clear and effective communication.
- Contribute to technical analysis, design, planning, and process improvements.
- Work using Agile development practices and test-driven development.
- Solve challenging technical problems in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Gain exposure to distributed systems, data protection, virtualization, database technologies, and multiple UNIX platforms.

What you will need to succeed: Must-Have Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience in C/C++ development.
- Experience developing complex software independently.
- Good understanding of software development practices and code quality.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to analyze technical problems and contribute effectively to design and planning.
- Willingness to work in an Agile development environment and follow test-driven development practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to Angular and scripting languages.




- Knowledge of socket programming and inter-process communication (IPC).
- Experience working with UNIX platforms such as Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, or AIX.
- Knowledge of enterprise backup and restore or data protection technologies.
- Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware or hypervisors.
- Knowledge of database technologies.
