About KaroStartup

KaroStartup began in 2020 as a college Instagram page. Today it's a startup media platform with a 1M+ community and 100M+ cumulative views, built on telling real Indian business stories with real numbers.

We publish across Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and podcasts, and we also manage content for founders and brands we work with.

What this role actually is

You own the platforms.

Not just posting — deciding what goes out, when, on which platform, and why. Reading the numbers afterwards and changing the plan based on what they say. Making sure a KaroStartup post is recognisable before anyone sees the handle.

You'll work with the content team and video editor, but the calendar, the growth targets and the platform strategy are yours.

What you'll do

- Own the content calendar across Instagram, LinkedIn, X and YouTube — planned weekly, not decided the same morning
- Research constantly. What's working on each platform right now, what formats are rising, what competitors and adjacent pages are doing, what our own audience is responding to.
- Build platform-specific growth strategy. Instagram, LinkedIn and X reward completely different things. A plan that treats them the same doesn't work.
- Write and edit content — hooks, captions, carousel scripts, LinkedIn posts, X threads
- Write blogs with SEO in mind — keyword research, structure, internal linking, titles and meta descriptions that actually get clicked
- Manage the brand. Tone, visual consistency, what we do and don't post. Every post should sound like us.
- Handle community. Comments, DMs, replies. The comment section is a growth channel, not an afterthought.
- Design basic creatives in Canva and work with the video editor on reels and shorts
- Report on numbers weekly. Reach, saves, shares, follower growth, profile visits,



best and worst performers — and what you're changing because of them.
- Run experiments. New formats, new posting patterns, new hooks. Some will fail. Bring the next one.

Skills we're looking for

Must have

- Hands-on experience growing at least one social media account — ours, a brand's, or your own
- Strong content research skills, and the ability to turn research into a plan
- Copywriting: clear, simple, human. Hooks that make people stop.
- Platform-level understanding of Instagram, LinkedIn and X — what each rewards and how growth actually works on each
- SEO fundamentals and blog writing
- Basic Canva
- Comfortable reading analytics and making decisions from them
- Strong communication, written and verbal

Positive to have

- You're a creator yourself. If you post online — a page, a newsletter, a channel, a personal brand — that counts for a lot here. It's the clearest proof you understand these platforms from the inside.
- Comfortable in Hindi/Hinglish as well as English
- Comfortable with AI tools for research and drafting
- Interest in Indian startups and business
- Basic video sense and on-camera comfort

The honest part Reach is not guaranteed anymore. Formats that worked six months ago don't work now, and posting consistently is the floor, not the strategy. You'll have weeks where a post you were sure about does nothing.

The people who do well in this role are the ones who treat that as data, run the next experiment, and keep the calendar full while doing it.

We also care a lot about accuracy — every number and claim we publish gets verified before it goes out. You'll be expected to hold that standard, not work around it.
