Role Description The Shift Engineer is a full time, on-site role based in Aluva, responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and utilities during assigned shifts. The role involves monitoring plant processes, ensuring adherence to production schedules, and coordinating with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime.

The Shift

Engineer will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities in line with safety and quality standards.





Responsibilities include maintaining accurate shift logs and reports, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting compliance with regulatory, environmental, and company policies. The position requires close collaboration with production, quality, and safety teams to maintain consistent output and to contribute to process optimization.

Qualifications

- Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills, including knowledge of industrial machinery, utilities, and basic instrumentation.
- Experience in manufacturing or process plant operations, preferably in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, food processing, or chemical industries.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment issues and supporting preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations, along with good practices in GMP, SOPs, and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, process diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate across production, maintenance, and quality functions.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle shift responsibilities and documentation accurately.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline; relevant certifications in plant maintenance or safety are an advantage.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts and on-site in Aluva, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
